What Shop Ops does

Three areas of a small store's daily work. In each, Shop Ops prepares the evidence and a proposed action; a person decides.

01

Ads and budget review

A daily read of how each ad set is doing, with any proposed change spelled out before it happens.

  • Spend and results per campaign, ad set and ad, pulled from the store’s connected ad account and Shopify orders.
  • Proposed actions — raise, lower or pause a budget, stop an ad — appear as cards with the evidence behind them.
  • Budget limits and thresholds are settings the owner controls. Changes outside them are never made automatically.
  • Each decision is recorded with who made it and when, so the history can be reviewed later.

02

Creative approval

New ad images, videos and copy wait in a review queue instead of going straight to the ad account.

  • Each creative is shown with its copy, the product it promotes and the ad set it is meant for.
  • Approve, reject with a reason, or send back for changes. Rejection reasons are kept and inform the next round.
  • Nothing is published until a person with the owner role approves it.

03

Support inbox

Customer emails sorted into what needs a reply, with a suggested reply that a person checks before sending.

  • The owner connects the store’s support mailbox (Gmail) with a separate consent step. This is optional.
  • Incoming support messages are sorted — for example order status, returns, product questions — and marked as waiting, replied or no reply needed.
  • For messages that need a reply, a draft is written into the mailbox’s Drafts folder, using the order details when relevant.
  • A person reads the draft, edits it if needed, and presses send. There is no automatic sending.
  • Choose the From address: replies can be sent from any “Send mail as” address you have already verified in Gmail settings, such as an address on the store’s own domain.
  • Support staff invited by the owner see only the support inbox.

How the support inbox uses Gmail data, scope by scope, is described on How we use Google data.
